Laura Wood (30 March 1889 – 1 November 1974; age 85) was the actress who played two prematurely aged characters, the rapidly aged Enterprise crewmember in the Star Trek: The Original Series first season episode "Charlie X", and rapidly aged Elaine Johnson in the second season episode "The Deadly Years". She filmed her scenes for the latter on Thursday 3 August 1967 at Desilu Stage 10.
Prior to her Star Trek appearances she had previously appeared in the television shows Medic (1955), Highway Patrol (1956), Official Detective (1957), 77 Sunset Strip (1959), General Electric Theater (1958), two episodes of The Rebel (1960), Gomer Pyle: USMC (1966), and the film Six She's and a He (1963).
Following her appearances on Star Trek, she appeared in an episode of My Three Sons (1969), and two additional films, This Sporting House (1969), and Sweet Bird of Aquarius (1970).
