The Lazon II labor camp was a Cardassian labor camp for prisoners on Lazon II. The planet was located in the Alpha Quadrant.

In 2371, Thomas Riker was to be imprisoned for the remainder of his life as part of a deal made with the Cardassians. (DS9: "Defiant")

By 2381, Thomas had presumably been released, escaped, or rescued, as he was no longer in prison. His whereabouts, among others, were ordered to be verified. (LD: "The Inner Fight")

Background information[]

This labor camp was only mentioned in dialogue.

This labor camp's quadrant of origin is inferred based on the position of the Cardassian Union as seen in the star chart appearing in the Star Trek: Picard episode "Maps and Legends".

According to Star Trek: Star Charts (p. 46) and Stellar Cartography: The Starfleet Reference Library ("Stellar Cartography", p. 18; "Federation Historical Highlights, 2161-2385"), there was a star system named Lazon, in which this labor camp might possibly have been located, in the Alpha Quadrant. The system's primary was an A-class star. According to a map of the Cardassian Union – prepared by an anonymous astrography clerk, from the Cardassian Central Archives, in 2364 – Lazon was identified as a Cardassian system.

According to StarTrek.com and the Star Trek Encyclopedia, 4th ed., vol. 1, p. 457, Lazon II was a Cardassian planet. [1](X)

Apocrypha[]

In the non-canon Deep Space Nine novel series Millennium, Riker is liberated from the Lazon II labor camp by the Grigari.
