Tricorder 1930 newspaper

Newspaper appearing on tricorder

Lee's Summit was a suburb of Kansas City, located in the US state of Missouri, on Earth's North American continent.

In 1930, a news report about cars not having license tags was printed in a New York newspaper. A policeman from near Lee's Summit told the paper that, "I'm going to be drafted next month and don't want to spend $15 or $20," was a common excuse for drivers of unlicensed vehicles. This report was on the same page as a murder, and the death of a local social worker, Edith Keeler.

This was one of the images on Spock's tricorder screen that was recorded before he and Captain Kirk transported back in time. (TOS: "The City on the Edge of Forever")
