The Lima Sierra system was a planetary system, with a primary orbited by four planets. The third planet in the system had an extremely unusual orbit that defied conventional mechanics. The fourth planet had two moons.
The system was visited by the USS Enterprise-D in 2365. Following the mission Captain Jean-Luc Picard pondered the mystery of the third planet's orbit. (TNG: "Loud As A Whisper")
In 2371, the location of Lima Sierra was labeled in the star chart Data and Picard were studying in stellar cartography aboard the USS Enterprise-D. (Star Trek Generations, display graphic)
