Liquor or spirits was an alcoholic beverage created through the processes of fermentation and distillation.

After Deputy Bennings offered Draysik a sip of alcohol in 2153, which caused the Skagaran to cough, Bennings acted surprised, believing "I thought you people could hold your liquor." Bennings believed that on account of Draysik's friend, who was hanged the night before, "had a few in him the night he killed Clay Stanton." Despite Benning's accusation, Draysik assured him that to the contrary, "He didn't drink." (ENT: "North Star")

When Elim Garak suffered from a headache caused by his implant in 2370, he went to Quark's, and consumed "half" of Quark's stock of kanar. When Quark asked if he had had enough, Garak stated that he had not, and that "[a]nyone who talks about the numbing effects of your liquor is severely overstating the case." (DS9: "The Wire")

When Nog replaced Martok blood wine with a better vintage that the vintage originally had in 2375, he added that "anytime you're shopping for wines or spirits, my cousin Gant is the man to see." (DS9: "Treachery, Faith and the Great River")

Later that year, Seven of Nine attempted to perfect her social skills by consuming champagne at a celebration of USS Voyager's newly installed slipstream drive. The Doctor discovered that after one glass, her blood synthehol level was at 0.05 percent. This prompted The Doctor to offer her to come to Sickbay with him for some inaprovaline to counteract the effects, adding "Obviously the Borg can't hold their liquor." (VOY: "Timeless")
