Lisa Vidal (born 13 June 1965; age 59) is an American actress of Puerto Rican descent who played a barracks officer in Star Trek. She was born in New York City, the eldest of three daughters of Puerto Rican immigrants. She graduated from the Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts in Manhattan, New York, and worked with the La Familia Theater Company.
In 2015, Vidal was elected as Los Angeles member of the National Board of Directors for the 2015-2017 period of SAG/AFTRA.
Television work[]
Vidal is perhaps best known for her recurring roles on NBC's Third Watch (1999-2001) and ER (2001-2004). On the former, she portrayed Dr. Sara Morales; on the latter, she was EMT Sandy Lopez. Among the performers she worked with on ER were Sam Anderson, Karen Austin, Michelle C. Bonilla, Jude Ciccolella, Julie Cobb, Scott Klace, Michelle Krusiec, Kay E. Kuter, Ed Lauter, Jordan Lund, Robert Mandan, Lily Mariye, Tzi Ma, Geoff Meed, Cyril O'Reilly, Armin Shimerman, Tom Wright, Jamison Yang, and Dell Yount.
In addition, Vidal had starring roles on High Incident (1996-97) and The Division (2001-04). She also had recurring roles on New York Undercover, The Brian Benben Show (which featured Charles Esten), and Smith (starring Virginia Madsen). In 2006, Vidal had a two-episode arc on Boston Legal, starring William Shatner and René Auberjonois, featuring Joanna Cassidy, Scott MacDonald, and Mark L. Taylor.
Vidal's early credits as a TV guest star include episodes of The Cosby Show, Miami Vice, and Law & Order (with Paul Sorvino). She later appeared on such shows as Numbers (with Matt Malloy), Without a Trace (starring Enrique Murciano, with Scott MacDonald), and CSI: Miami (with Scott Klace). She later appeared on NBC's Southland.
Film work[]
Vidal made her film debut in Delivery Boys (1985). Her next major film role came in Night and the City (1992). She later had a role in Mighty Aphrodite (1995, starring F. Murray Abraham, David Ogden Stiers, and Peter Weller).
Vidal and Star Trek actor Clifton Collins, Jr. had previously worked together on The Wonderful Ice Cream Suit (1998, with Gregory Sierra). Vidal later worked with Fred Williamson in Active Stealth (1999) and the 2007 musical comedy I Wanna Dancer.
Vidal's other film credits include Chasing Papi (2003) and Dark Mirror (2007). In the latter, she worked alongside Tucker Smallwood.
