Loracus Prime is a planet which is listed on the Vulcan star charts. Its atmosphere contains purple/pink clouds of gas and it is known to have over 5,000 subspecies of termites. (ENT: "Strange New World")
- Elizabeth Cutler's prop book about Loracus Prime insects is an Eyewitness Handbook, a series of field guides published by Dorling Kindersley on a variety of natural subjects. When the episode aired, many viewers thought that Cutler said "Arrakis Prime", in referrence to the Dune Chronicles, but pictures of the prop book have subsequently become available that disprove this theory.
