Love poetry was a genre of poetry that was romantic in nature.

Klingons were known for their love poetry. According to Worf, "It is among the Klingons that love poetry achieves its fullest flower." (TNG: "Up The Long Ladder")

In 2365, Worf described the role of the Klingon male in Klingon mating rituals thusly: "He reads love poetry. He ducks a lot." (TNG: "The Dauphin")

After hearing the poetic reason behind the Klingon tea ceremony, Doctor Katherine Pulaski called Worf a romantic, and he venerated Klingon love poetry. After she gave herself the antidote to the poisoned tea, she then asked him to quote her some of the poetry. (TNG: "Up The Long Ladder")
