The MediaWiki namespace is a mechanism allowing non-developers to customize the fundamental elements of the user interface. For example, the contents of the page MediaWiki:Wiki-navigation define the navbar displayed at the top of every page. When this page is edited, the navbar automatically updates across the site.

The importance of MediaWiki pages makes them a prime target for vandalism. Because of this, only administrators are permitted to edit these pages, and some pages may only be edited by Fandom staff.
