Marc Bernardin (born 29 November 1971; age 49) is a writer, journalist, and producer whose first involvement with Star Trek was in 1992, when he was an intern on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. He also pitched a story, titled "Past Present" to Star Trek: The Next Generation. [1] Bernardin was interviewed for the DS9 documentary What We Left Behind in 2019. Bernardin has a photograph of Avery Brooks as Benjamin Sisko on his office door. [2] One of his favorite episodes is "Far Beyond the Stars". [3] More recently, he joined production of Star Trek: Picard and will be working as supervising producer on the second season. [4] [5]

Bernardin and Ira Steven Behr reunited when the two worked on Syfy's science fiction series Alphas for which Bernardin wrote the episode "The Unusual Suspects" in 2011. Kevin Lafferty worked as producer on this series, Robert Hewitt Wolfe as co-executive producer, and Bradley Thompson and David Weddle as consulting producers. Bernardin also wrote episodes of Castle Rock (2018, executive produced by J.J. Abrams), Treadstone (2020, co-produced by Stephen Welke) on which he also worked as co-producer, and Amazon Prime's Carnival Row. For Castle Rock, Bernardin won a WGA Award from the Writer's Guild of America in the category Long Form Original in 2019.

He also worked as writer on the reboot of the animated series Masters of the Universe: Revelation (2020). The series voice cast includes Diedrich Bader, Alan Oppenheimer, Kevin Michael Richardson, Stephen Root, and Tony Todd.

Bernardin worked as editor for the Los Angeles Times, The Hollywood Reporter, and Entertainment Weekly and has written for Wired, Vulture, Details, Playboy, Empire, and GQ. he also wrote comic books for Marvel Comics, DC Comics, and Image Comics. In 2018, he won an Inkpot Award, a Comic Con International honor.

Bernardin has been a friend of actor and entertainer Kevin Smith and appeared in several of his projects. He voiced the Mayor of Asbury Park in the animated movie Jay and Silent Bob's Super Groovy Cartoon Movie (2013, with Stan Lee and Tara Strong) and played the Sleepy Blunt-Fan in the comedy Jay and Silent Bob Reboot (2019, with Diedrich Bader, Jeff Chase, Kevin Foster, Chris Hemsworth, and Stephen Root). Since 2015, Bernardin has been co-hosting the Kevin Smith podcasts Fatman on Batman and Fatman Beyond on YouTube. [6] [7]
