Maria del Mar (born 27 June 1964; age 61) is an actress who played Culber's grandmother in the Star Trek: Discovery fifth season episode "Whistlespeak".

She was born in Madrid, Spain, but grew up in Ottawa, Canada. Since 1987, she has made over eighty screen appearances, most of them on television.

In 1995-96, del Mar had a regular role as Lt. Sam Houston in William Shatner's TekWar. Besides Shatner, the show also featured Nicole de Boer, Tara Rosling, and Conrad Coates in guest roles. Producers and writers included Hans Beimler and Richard Manning, and directors Allan Kroeker, Allan Eastman, and Hans Beimler, as well as Shatner in all above capacities.

She was also a regular on the sixth through eighth seasons of Street Legal (1991-94), Mercy Point (1998-99, co-starring Joe Morton and Brian McNamara, with Larry Cedar), the first two seasons of Blue Murder (2001-02, starring Mimi Kuzyk), and Terminal City (2005).

She guested in episodes of series such as War of the Worlds, Forever Knight, Kung Fu: The Legend Continues, Frasier (starring Kelsey Grammer), The Practice (with Mitchell Ryan and Googy Gress), The Outer Limits (narrated by Kevin Conway), Monk (starring Ted Levine, with Stanley Kamel), 24 (with Penny Johnson, Zachary Quinto, Alan Dale, Michael Cavanaugh, Glenn Morshower, Daniel Dae Kim, Jamie McShane, and Michelle C.
