Mariano Nicieza (often credited as simply Mariano) (born 27 August 1958; age 65) is a comic book author. He began writing for Marvel Comics in 1993 working on various short stories in anthology titles. In 1995, he penned a story in the Malibu Comics DS9 "Ultimate Annual", paving the way for his work on five issues of the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine line when it moved to Marvel in 1996. He is the brother of Fabian Nicieza, another comic book writer.

Nicieza adapted William Shatner's War Chronicles and Stan Lee's God Woke.
