List of individuals who visited the trade complex on Rigel X.

Several alien species were observed at the trade complex on Rigel X, when the crew of the Enterprise NX-01 visited in 2151. Among them were Benzites, Lorillians, and Markalians. (ENT: "Broken Bow")

Level 2 aliens[]

Aliens with long heads []

In search of information regarding Klaang, Vulcan Sub-Commander T'Pol visited the trade complex Central Security office, manned by an alien with an elongated head. At least two other members of this species were also present at the trade complex and visited the burlesque show. (ENT: "Broken Bow")

The call sheets of "Broken Bow" list these aliens as "Rigel". They wore the makeup of aliens seen in the deleted scene 092, identified on the call sheet as "Rigel (New and improved)".
They filmed their scenes on Tuesday 22 May 2001 on location at the Hyperion Water Treatment Plant and on Friday 25 May 2001 at the Redondo Power Plant.

Aliens with ridged brows []

These two female aliens with ridged brows were seen on Level 2 outside the security office, sitting near Trip Tucker in the resting area. The first was drinking a yellow liquid from a glass jug as she waited, while the second sat holding onto a burgundy colored cylindrical case. (ENT: "Broken Bow")

Alien man 2 []

This alien man was talking with the third Guppi outside the Central Security office while holding a large object. Another female member of this species was present in the general vicinity. (ENT: "Broken Bow")

The alien man was played by background actor Mel Gold and the woman by Suzanne Bianqui.
This species was identified on the call sheet simply as "Alien A".
They filmed their scenes on Friday 25 March 2001 on location at the Redondo Power Plant.

Benzites[]

Corvallens[]

Guppi []

Three Guppi were seen on Rigel X in 2151.

The first was nearby when T'Pol and Trip Tucker began exploring the trade complex.

The second and third were outside the resting area near the Central Security office. (ENT: "Broken Bow")

This species was identified in the call sheets under "Female Full Heads" as "Guppi". Their make-up reused the headpiece of the Evora without the nose piece.
A fourth "Guppi" appeared in deleted scene 93, played by Susan Pingleton.

Lorillians[]

Markalians[]

Red-skinned alien []

Rigel X, Alien Fox

Fox alien

This red-skinned alien was nearby when T'Pol and Tucker began exploring the trade complex. He walked past a door, from behind which activities had gotten Tucker's attention. (ENT: "Broken Bow")

The alien was played by an unknown actor. He was simply identified in the call sheet under "Male Full Heads" as "Fox".

Rotciv[]

Level 5 aliens[]

Alien man 1 []

Alien man, Rigel X

"Alien man"

This yellow-skinned man was dressed in a maroon hood and blue frock. His flesh was mottled with brown and gray spots and he possessed no discernible nose or nostrils.

When approached by Enterprise officers Lieutenant Malcolm Reed and Ensign Travis Mayweather, the man claimed to have seen the Klingon Klaang. He persuaded Reed and Mayweather to watch the butterfly dancers' show and even offered to introduce them. The Humans declined. (ENT: "Broken Bow")

This "Alien Man" was played by Van Epperson, who was also described in the call sheet as a "pimp". He was featured in a deleted scene, preceding the scenes that aired, in which it was made clear he had no real interest in helping Reed and Mayweather. The scene provided a clearer shot of his makeup and wardrobe.
In the novel A Choice of Futures, his species is identified as the Xarantine.

Butterfly dancers []

The butterfly dancers were entertainers at the Rigel X trade complex, performing an exotic dance while catching and eating butterflies with their long tongues.

Both women were nearly identical, with one being mostly blue in color, and the other mostly pink. Their faces were white above the mouth, and their hair matched their colorful skin tone. The dancers' bodies were covered in silver-colored objects. Another alien claimed to know the dancers personally and offered to introduce them to Reed and Mayweather. (ENT: "Broken Bow")

The butterfly dancers were played by twin dancers Diane and Elaine Klimaszewski. "We were the sexiest, spaced out aliens I could imagine," laughed Elaine Klimasewski, who played the pink butterfly dancer, while her sister Diane performed as the blue dancer. Elaine continued, "They put a foam prosthetic on our faces, glued it on, airbrushed it and topped it off with a big hair-piece to hide our hair. We had seven layers of latex on us." The latex, which was thereafter painted, was so painful and foul-smelling that it caused Diane to pass out and be physically sick. "I was fine," she said, "it was a painful experience but worth it. The latex smelled so bad!" (Star Trek Magazine issue 119, p. 43)
The novel A Choice of Futures featured another duo engaging in this act, described as "Klimasz butterfly dancers", the species' name an apparent homage to the actors.

Shran's former associates []

Sometime in the late 2150s, Andorian Thy'lek Shran was forced to fake his death, wrongfully accused by at least four alien criminals of stealing a Tenebian amethyst. Learning of this deception in 2161, the criminals kidnapped Shran's daughter, Talla, threatening to kill her if Shran did not return the amethyst.

With the help of Captain Jonathan Archer and the crew of Enterprise, Shran confronted the aliens on Rigel X, retrieving Talla and escaping. The alien gangsters, however, were able to catch up with the NX-01 and board the ship. Before they could harm Shran, Talla, or any of the Enterprise crew, all of the aliens were killed in a plasma explosion set off by Charles Tucker III, who was also fatally wounded. (ENT: "These Are the Voyages...")

In the final draft script of "These Are the Voyages...", they were described as "creepy-looking aliens".

Green-skinned aliens []

Another green-skinned alien

The lead alien of the gang was an ashen-green-skinned alien with long, gray hair. His features were distinguished by a column of horizontal ridges bisecting his face. He had pale blue eyes and was dressed in a gray, padded suit with a sash-like belt.

The lead alien criminal was played by Jonathan Schmock, credited on-screen only as "Alien", and on the call sheets as "lead creepy alien".
In the final draft script of "These Are the Voyages...", this character was typically referred to as "Lead Alien" and was initially described thus; "The Lead Alien has a sadistic streak coupled with a disingenuous charm."
The wardrobe donned by the lead alien was a reuse of the costume worn by Zho'Kaan in "Dawn".
The same green alien appeared in the Enterprise relaunch novel, The Good That Men Do, referred to as Wungki. In the novel, Wungki was hired by Earth Starfleet's Section 31 to help fake Charles Tucker's death, though he was no more agreeable than he was in the episode.

A second green-skinned alien was also a part of the gang. He held Talla during the meeting with Shran and T'Pol on Rigel X and was later present when the criminals boarded Enterprise. He wore a long red coat and carried an alien phaser rifle. (ENT: "These Are the Voyages...")

The second green-skinned alien criminal was played by stunt actor Ian Eyre who received no credit for this appearance.
Considering that there were two green-skinned criminals in search of a Tenebian amethyst, it is possible that these aliens were Tenebians. This has not, however, been established on screen.

Horned alien []

Rigel X alien criminal 3

Horned alien gangster

Among the alien gangsters associated with Shran was a semi-reptilian man, characterized by brown, scaled skin. The alien's features were dominated by distinct cheekbones and several sharp horns extending from the middle of his forehead to the back of his head. His hands were heavily scaled and he wore a brown, hairy-looking jacket. This alien also carried an alien phaser rifle. (ENT: "These Are the Voyages...")

This alien was played by stunt actor Lincoln Simonds, who received no credit for his performance.
The alien's hands may again have been a reuse of the Xindi-Reptilians gloves, repainted brown. His weapon appears to be a modification of a Klingon disruptor rifle.

Orange alien []

Rigel X alien criminal 4

An orange alien

The fourth alien criminal killed aboard Enterprise was another humanoid, this one orange in color with a red face. His face was also distinguished by dominate cheekbones and he had large, slanted nostrils. His hands were clawed, his hair brown and long. This alien was dressed in a camouflage-green suit with a gray and rust-colored belt.

He hit Archer with the butt of his weapon and knocked him out during their confrontation aboard Enterprise NX-01 in 2161. (ENT: "These Are the Voyages...")

This alien criminal was played by stunt actor Steve Blalock who received no credit for this appearance.
While he was likely not intended to be one, this alien closely resembled the makeup appliances used in "Demons" for the Rigelian diplomats. Their makeup, however, was yellow and green in color, rather than orange and red.

Background information[]

Unidentified characters[]

Two actresses, Angela Giampietro and Erika Mueller, both appeared in the Rigel X scenes in "Broken Bow", portraying as-yet unidentified characters. Yvonne Carlson, Kitty DeCarlo, and Heather Ettinger are listed on the call sheet as "Female Alien C".

Docking coordinators []

In deleted scene 092 from "Broken Bow", Captain Archer and Hoshi Sato had a conversation with the dockmaster of Rigel X while searching for the Klingon Klaang. This dockmaster was played by actor David Richards, who later portrayed a Markalian dockmaster in the second season episode, "The Seventh".

This scene featured two more background performers as Rigel natives. The deleted scene was later added to the ENT Season 1 DVD, and he also appeared in the novelization of Broken Bow.

The call sheets for the episode list Richards as "Dock Master" and the two background actors as "Rigel (New and improved)". The scene was filmed on 4 June 2001 on Paramount Stage 8 including work in front of a green screen. One of the two background costumes was later sold off on the It's A Wrap! sale and auction on eBay. Yellow-skinned alien[]

In deleted scene 099 from "Broken Bow", two yellow-skinned aliens appeared. One of them acquired a hooker, while the other was watching a fire eater. Both were portrayed by unknown actors.

Deleted Scene 099 from "Broken Bow" featured an alien fire eater on Rigel X, portrayed by professional fire eater Debra Lamb Bailleaux.

Hookers []

Three alien hookers appeared in the same deleted scene. According to the call sheet, the characters were "Female 'Hookers', Alien", and were played by Dene Doucette, Leslie Redden, and Nikole.
