Marshal Silverman (born 22 February 1946; age 78) is an actor who appeared as a background actor in an episode of Star Trek: Voyager and served as stand-in and photo double on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Voyager. He received no credit for his appearances. Two of his costumes were sold off on the It's A Wrap! sale and auction on eBay. [1](X) [2](X) He filmed his scenes for the Voyager episode "The Cloud" on Tuesday 6 December 1994 on Paramount Stage 16 and is listed as "Alien (Hook)" on the call sheet.

Born in Chicago, Illinois, Silverman was one of the leading members of the SAG background actors committee, who was also responsible for changing the term "extra" into "background actor". In addition, he served as AFTRA National Board member between 2004 and 2006. Silverman is a trained stylist and has experiences in fashion, costume, and lighting design.

Silverman worked as stand-in and photo double on Class Act (1992), The Shadow (1994), the drama It's My Party (1996, with Bruce Davison, Dennis Christopher, and Sally Kellerman), for William Hickey and Michael Jeter in Mouse Hunt (1997), in the drama A Civil Action (1998), for Ray Walston in My Favorite Martian (1999, with Christopher Lloyd and Wallace Shawn), for William Duell in the comedy The Out-of-Towners (1999), for Henry Gibson in Magnolia (1999), and for Joel Grey in the Alias episode "In Dreams..." (2005, with Michael Forest).

Silverman's acting resume includes supporting and background roles in Kenny Rogers as The Gambler (1980, with Lance LeGault), Police Academy 2: Their First Assignment (1985, starring David Graf), Runaway Train (1985), Legal Eagles (1986, with David Clennon), The Wild Pair (1987, with Gary Lockwood), the comedy The Night Before (1988), The Karate Kid Part III (1989), The Shadow (1994), The Secret Agent Club (1996), The Beautician and the Beast (1997), Men in Black (1997, with Carel Struycken, Ken Thorley, Becky Ann Baker, and Steve Rankin) and Wild Wild West (1999, with Musetta Vander), The Million Dollar Hotel (2000, with Harris Yulin), and more recently the thriller Julia (2008, with Saul Rubinek and Jude Ciccolella).

His television appearances include series such as Murder, She Wrote, Hill Street Blues, L.A. Law, Night Court, The Munsters Today, The Young and the Restless, The Practice, Port Charles, General Hospital, and Married with Children (1994).
