Marti Avila is an actress, model, and integrated nutrition health coach who appeared in several first season episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation as a security officer. As a background actress she received no credit for these appearances.
Avila's audition for "Encounter at Farpoint" consisted of no audition. She and her husband Tim Anders were living in the Hollywood area when her neighbor, William Ware Theiss, the costume designer, asked her if she wanted to appear on the new Star Trek series. A few weeks later Marti was in her new uniform and on set. After appearing in the initial season, she was offered the opportunity to be part of the permanent security team on the series and that they would pay for her acting lessons and SAG card. She turned it down to give more time to managing her real estate investments business.
Today, Avila works as a Board-Certified Holistic Health Coach, Whole Food/Plant Based/Vegan Personal Chef, Certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach, a Dr. Daniel Amen Clinic Brain Health Coach, an Ayurveda Practitioner. [1]
