Matt Roe (1 January 19529 October 2003; age 51) was the actor who appeared as Latha Mabrin in the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine fifth season episode "The Darkness and the Light". He was born in New York City, New York, USA.

Roe had previously appeared on such television series as Murder, She Wrote (with William Windom), Falcon Crest (with Jonathan Banks, Brett Cullen, and Robert Foxworth), Hill Street Blues (with Marc Alaimo, Charlie Brill, James B. Sikking, and Lawrence Tierney), L.A. Law (with Corbin Bernsen and Larry Drake), Wings (starring Steven Weber), Lois & Clark: the New Adventures of Superman (starring Teri Hatcher), Sisters (with Ashley Judd), Dark Skies (starring Tim Kelleher), and Mr. & Mrs. Smith (starring Scott Bakula). His role on Deep Space Nine was followed with a second appearance on Lois & Clark (in an episode also guest-starring Michael Keenan and Leonard Kelly-Young), and a guest spot on Gideon's Crossing, along with fellow DS9 guest star Deborah May.

Roe also appeared in the TV movies Baby M (1988, co-starring Stephen Liska, Bruce McGill, Julie Parrish, and Helene Udy), The Neon Empire (1989, with Andreas Katsulas and Natalia Nogulich), The Big One: The Great Los Angeles Earthquake (1990, with Ed Begley, Jr., Felecia M. Bell, Richard Herd, and Brock Peters), and Calendar Girl, Cop, Killer? The Bambi Bembenek Story (1992, with Ed Lauter, James Sloyan, and Susanna Thompson). His feature film credits include Puppet Master (1989, co-starring Jimmie F. Skaggs), My Blue Heaven (1990, with Ed Lauter), Child's Play 2 (1990, with Gerrit Graham and the voice of Brad Dourif), The Unborn (1991, with Brad Blaisdell and K Callan), Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult (1994, with Marc Alaimo, Earl Boen, Bill Erwin, and Bill Zuckert), and Pentathlon (1994, with David Soul and Daniel Riordan).

Roe died of multiple myeloma in 2003. His final screen credit was a guest appearance in an episode of Judging Amy, which also guest-starred Q actor John de Lancie.
