Memory Alpha
This page describes one of Memory Alpha's policies and guidelines.

Please read through the policy below to familiarize yourself with our common practices and rules.
If you have any questions, suggestions, or complaints, please post them on the talk page.

A primary source is described as "any piece of information that was created by someone who witnessed first hand or was part of the historical events that are being described" (see primary source at Wikipedia). For our purposes, this includes lines of dialogue from episodes and movies, as well as novels and other similar works.

Because Memory Alpha is not a resource archive, but rather a reference source, it is not appropriate for such information as blocks of dialogue or other documents to be included in Memory Alpha, except in the form of excerpts (i.e. more than two or three lines). Instead, link to an external website that provides the information (and please don't forget to describe external links).
