The following is a list of the inhabitants of Meridian, members of Seltin Rakal's species.

According to Jadzia Dax there were thirty Meridians on the planet in 2371. (DS9: "Meridian")

Named

The name Yoneb is listed in the cast list of the script. Scene 60 of the script also mentions Yoneb but this character seems not be part of the final episode. [1]

Unnamed

Adults

These adults were the inhabitants of the settlement on Meridian and the last ones of their species. They were encountered by the USS Defiant in 2371 when they shifted into the regular dimension. They shared their first meal with an away team from the Defiant including Commander Benjamin Sisko, Jadzia Dax, Miles O'Brien, and Julian Bashir. The next two weeks they spent time together, listened to music from the musician, planted several flowers in their settlement, and went to picnics. After these two weeks they all shifted back to another dimension with their planet. (DS9: "Meridian")

Catherine Wong's costume

All adult Meridians were played by background performers who received no credit for their appearances. According to the call sheets, they filmed their scenes between Wednesday 28 September 1994 and Friday 30 September 1994 on Paramount Stage 18.
The dress worn by Catherine Wong was sold off on the web and is listing her character as "N.D. Meridian".
It is possible that Keshara and Renar among these Meridians.

Children

These two children were among the inhabitants of Meridian in 2371.

Both participated in the first meal when the away team from the USS Defiant arrived. The boy was seated on the left table while the girl was seated on the right table.

The boy later played along with Lito, another Meridian boy, with a silver ball the game vajhaq when Lito asked Commander Benjamin Sisko to play with them while the girl joined two adult Meridians for a picnic as the man was carrying a picnic basket.

The boy later started to cry after the last meal but was comforted by one of the adults. The girl along with Lito then arrived.

Both were present when the Meridian inhabitants prepared for the dimensional shift along with their planet. (DS9: "Meridian")

Both children were played by unknown performers.

Deral's wife

Deral's wife died sometime prior to the USS Defiant's visit to Meridian in 2371. Since her death, everyone wondered when he would find himself another companion. He explained this to Jadzia Dax when she asked him why Seltin Rakal didn't seem happy to see them socializing. (DS9: "Meridian")

This wife was only mentioned in dialogue.

Musician

A musician

This male Meridian inhabitant was seated near the tables during first meal in 2371. He played a musical instrument resembling a harp during the meal.

On a later day, he showed a female Meridian how to play this instrument while sitting on a bench at the settlement's square.

On a later night he played some music while several Meridians listened to his play. Jadzia Dax and Deral were also present but talked to each other.

He was among the Meridians who gathered at the square following their last meal. He held the hands of a female Meridian shortly before the dimensional shift. (DS9: "Meridian")

This Meridian was played by an unknown actor.
