Michael Hemmingson (12 July 1966–9 January 2014; age 47) was a novelist, editor, playwright, literary critic, cultural anthropologist, and independent scholar who wrote the monograph Star Trek: A Post-Structural Critique of the Original Series.
From 2004 through 2009, he covered local music, crime, and social issues for the San Diego Reader. He died of a heart attack on January 9, 2014 in Tijuana. [1]
