Michael R. Jones (born 5 July 1954; age 70) is a makeup artist who worked on Star Trek: The Next Generation in the early 1990s.
Born in Seattle, Washington, USA, Jones first started a career in the prop department and worked as an actor before deciding to work as a makeup artist while working in the makeup labs of friends Steve Neill and Rick Stratton. In 1992 he received a Primetime Emmy Award nomination in the category Outstanding Individual Achievement in Makeup for a Miniseries or a Special for his work on Babe Ruth, shared with Michael Westmore.
Prior to his Emmy nomination, Jones worked as makeup artist on The A-Team and Tales from the Crypt (1990), Ghostbusters (1984), The Lost Empire (1985, with Steve Neill), Big Man on Campus (1989), The Return of Swamp Thing (1989, with Dean Gates and Steve Neill), Spontaneous Combustion (1990), Dark Angel (1990), and Eve of Destruction (1991, with R. Christopher Biggs, Camille Calvet, and James Rohland).
Further credits include the television drama My Brother's Keeper (1995), French Exit (1995, with Suzanne Diaz and starring Mädchen Amick), Against the Law (1997), Anarchy TV (1998), One Hell of a Guy (2000), Lindsay Fully Loaded (2007), and My Apocalypse (2008).
Jones later worked as makeup artist on the television comedy Birds of a Feather (2010) and Elevator (2011) and as makeup department head on the comedy Look in the Mirror (2010).
