Bajoran midwife

A Bajoran midwife

A midwife was a professional who provided prenatal care to expecting mothers, attends the birth, and provided postpartum care to the mother and infant. Midwives specialized in low-risk pregnancies, helping women to have healthy pregnancies and natural births – the non-medical equivalent of an obstetrician, who specialized in surgical aspects of pregnancy.
