McCoy with mint julep

McCoy and a mint julep

The mint julep was an alcoholic cocktail from the southern United States of America on the planet Earth. A mint julep was traditionally made of four ingredients: mint, bourbon, sugar, and water.

Leonard McCoy was a big fan of mint juleps; he prepared one, Georgia-style, while relaxing under the influence of the Omicron spores in 2267, and asked James T. Kirk if he'd ever had one before, much to the captain's annoyance, as there were more important tasks to be done. Later, Spock, when asked where McCoy was by Kirk, was told by the Vulcan that the doctor had gone off to make one, clarifying that it was a drink, as he didn't know whether Kirk knew that or not.

As soon as the spores' effects wore off, McCoy tossed the drink aside. (TOS: "This Side of Paradise")
