A moon shuttle was an unsophisticated type of shuttlecraft that was used from the 22nd to the 24th century.
In 2155 of the mirror universe, Captain Jonathan Archer imagined that he saw a counterpart of himself from a parallel universe. The illusion told him that he would more probably "end up commanding a moon shuttle" than receive official authorization from Starfleet to command an advanced starship named the Defiant. (ENT: "In a Mirror, Darkly, Part II")
Aboard the USS Enterprise of the primary universe, 111 years later, Doctor Leonard McCoy was berated by Captain James T. Kirk for not alerting the captain on the ship's red alert status during a physical. The doctor then quipped, "What am I, a doctor or a moon shuttle conductor?", implying that it wasn't his job to do so. (TOS: "The Corbomite Maneuver")
In the second revised draft script of "The Corbomite Maneuver" (dated 20 May 1966), McCoy's reference was instead to "a trolley car conductor".

Later that year, the away team from the USS Cerritos, which consisted of Captain Carol Freeman, Lieutenant Shaxs and Lieutenant jg Sam Rutherford, took a moon shuttle to New Axton. Rutherford complained that the ride took forever, and he also complained about his back hurting. (LD: "The Inner Fight")
According the audio description in "The Inner Fight", this was described as a "Vulcan shuttle".
