Captain Morgan Bateson
Captain Morgan Bateson was commanding officer of Federation starship USS Bozeman in 2278, when the ship entered a temporal causality loop. The USS Enterprise-D released the Bozeman from the loop in 2368, leaving Bateson and his crew stranded in the 24th century. (TNG: "Cause and Effect")
The Bozeman was kept in service however, and Bateson remained captain in Starfleet until at least 2373, when he helped fight the Borg cube that invaded the Sol Sector in the Battle of Sector 001. (Star Trek: First Contact)
- Bateson is the leading character in the Star Trek novel Ship of the Line; the story of which tells of the incident that trapped the Bozeman in the temporal causality loop and the problems of Bateson and the Bozeman crew trying to adjust to life in the 24th century.
- Bateson was played by actor Kelsey Grammer.
