Nelson Rafael Grande (born 30 December 1976; age 48) is an actor who appeared as a Starfleet officer in Star Trek Nemesis. As a background actor he received no credit for this appearance and was identified by the name tag of his uniform which was sold off on the It's A Wrap! sale and auction on eBay and later worn by actor Jade Carter during his performance in the Star Trek: The Experience film Borg Invasion 4D. [1](X) Grande also portrayed a linguistic student in the Star Trek: Enterprise first season episode "Broken Bow". He filmed his scene for "Broken Bow" on location in Malibu on 19 June 2001.
Born in Los Angeles, California, Grande performed in several stage plays and with his rock band Rasputin's Lounge Act before he started acting in film and television in 2001. He studied acting at the SAG Conservatory and at the Weist Barron Hill.
His first acting role was the student film Recipe for Romance in 2001, followed by performances as an ape in Planet of the Apes (2001, starring Mark Wahlberg, with Michael Clarke Duncan, Erick Avari, Anne Elizabeth Ramsay, Freda Foh Shen, Michael Jace, Deep Roy, Michael Wiseman, Cary-Hiroyuki, and David Warner), guest parts in NYPD Blue (2001, starring Gordon Clapp, with Brian McNamara, John Vickery and Daniel Zacapa), Gilmore Girls, and Shasta McNasty, in the independent productions Recollect, Calexico, and Tequila Shots, and in the comedy The Helix...Loaded (2005, with Max Daniels).
