New KSM GmbH was a home video format production and distribution company, based out of Hochheim, Germany, and was formed in 2002 as Krause & Schneider Multimedia GmbH (KSM). It specialized in the production and distribution of non-mainstream, non-German productions for the home market, which typically entailed providing the production in question with German language tracks and subtitles.
In 2016, on the occasion of the Star Trek franchise's 50th anniversary, the company produced and distributed the very first non-franchise Star Trek documentaries in High Destination (HD) for release on the Blu-ray Disc format. They concerned four older documentaries, licensed from original producer 455 Films, that were remastered to HD standards.
The company went through a couple of brand name changes (including this one, being the one under which they released their Star Trek-related productions), before it ended its independent existence in 2019, when it was absorbed into the German/Austrian Koch Media conglomerate. [1]
