New York was a region located on the Atlantic coast of the North American continent of Earth. This was a state in the United States of America. The bordering states were Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Vermont. The bordering country was Canada. This state was in the Great Lakes region. The cities of Albany, Camden City, Cooperstown, Garden City, Northport, and New York City were located in this state. Long Island was, as well, located in this state. The two-letter code for this state was NY.

New York was one of the original thirteen states of the United States, and was mentioned in Article I of the United States Constitution. (TOS: "The Omega Glory")

In the mid-20th century, Amazing Detective Stories was published in this state, in New York City and Garden City. One of the stories, The Big Good-Bye, a Dixon Hill story, was based in New York City. (TNG: "The Big Goodbye")

The pages seen in the episode were actually from the detective novel, The Listening Man, by author John A. Moroso. This novel was published in 1924.

Upstate New York was the birthplace of Jonathan Archer. (ENT: "North Star", "Storm Front")

West Point was also in New York State; Major Hayes trained there as a MACO. (ENT: "Hatchery")

The book Chicago Mobs of the Twenties was published in New York in 1992. (TOS: "A Piece of the Action")

In the Julian Bashir, Secret Agent holoprogram, New York City was one of the cities hit by an earthquake, created by Hippocrates Noah's underground lasers. Honey Bare was kidnapped only a few hours before the earthquake struck New York. (DS9: "Our Man Bashir")

In an alternate timeline in which Nazi Germany had invaded the United States, as of 1944 New York was controlled by German forces. (ENT: "Storm Front", "Storm Front, Part II")

New York was named on a map of the United States (Die Vereinigten Staaten von Amerika).

Omega IV
