The New York Street seen in "The Big Goodbye"

The New York Street backlot of Paramount Pictures served as filming location for several Star Trek productions.

On Thursday 25 August 1983, the Paramount lot was struck by a large fire, destroying most of its standing outdoors sets, including the by then 56-years old "New York Street" set. The fire occurred while Star Trek III: The Search for Spock was being filmed, and it was the fire where William Shatner had famously claimed that he had served as a firefighter. [1]

The "New York Street" backlot was newly rebuilt and extensively used for the later Star Trek television productions. The "New York Street" lot was the subject of the "Enterprise Secrets"-special feature on the ENT Season 3 Blu-ray and DVD set.
