Nicole Frank (1 February 1969 – 17 January 2013; age 43) was a hair stylist who worked on Star Trek. She is best known for her Emmy Award-nominated work on the hit ABC series Desperate Housewives, which starred Teri Hatcher, Brenda Strong, Steven Culp, and Mark Moses. Frank worked on this series during its first two seasons, from 2004 through 2006.
She was born as Nicole Giacondina DeFrancesco in Allentown, Pennsylvania, USA.
Frank was a key assistant hairstylist on Spartan (2004, with Steven Culp, Matt Malloy, David Paymer and Natalia Nogulich) and Sideways (2004, starring Virginia Madsen). Her hairstyling can also be seen in films such as Lords of Dogtown (2005) and Semi-Pro (2008). In addition, she was hired as a Day Player on Charlie Wilson's War (2007, featuring Star Trek's Rachel Nichols and Faran Tahir).
Frank's other work as hair stylist include the television series The West Wing, My Name Is Earl, Ugly Betty (starring Vanessa Williams), and Big Love (2010) and Twilight (2008). As Hair Department Head she worked on the ABC sitcom Carpoolers (2007-2008) and United States of Tara (2009). Among her last work are the short comedy AppleBox (2011), The Hunger Games (2012), and Hitchcock (2012).
Frank passed away on 17 January 2013 at the age of 43 in Toluca Lake, Los Angeles, California, USA. She was remembered in the end credits of the 2013 Suburgatory episode "Chinese Chicken".
