The Norvalens were a humanoid species from the Norvalen homeworld, in the Delta Quadrant. Norvalens did not have fathers.
Jaffen was a Norvalen who worked on Quarra in 2377. He considered himself lucky to be on Quarra, as his homeworld could be described as overpopulated, polluted, and with very little work. (VOY: "Workforce")
The Star Trek: Voyager Companion (p. 424) gives this species' name an alternate spelling for this species as "Norvalian".
