A nosebleed or bloody nose was a condition where the capillaries in one's nose burst, causing blood loss. It could be caused by an actual blow to the nose or manifest as a psychosomatic response. The term could also be used as colloquially to describe an embarrassing wound to one's pride.
In 2255 of the alternate reality, James T. Kirk suffered a nosebleed after getting into a fight with Hendorff and other Starfleet Academy cadets at the Shipyard Bar. Later, he used wadded-up napkins to stem the flow of blood. (Star Trek)
In 2267, Boma suggested giving the Taurus II anthropoids a bloody nose to deter them from attacking the Galileo crew. (TOS: "The Galileo Seven")
In 2347, a seven-year-old Worf gave five teenage boys at his school bloody noses. (TNG: "Family")
In 2365, Q advised Jean-Luc Picard "to go back home and crawl under [his] bed" if he couldn't take a bloody nose, i.e. the loss of 18 USS Enterprise-D crew members at the hands of the Borg. (TNG: "Q Who")
In 2371, Lupaza reminisced about the days in which the Shakaar resistance cell would give the Cardassians a bloody nose when they got too close; Shakaar Edon reminded her that sometimes their nose got bloodied. (DS9: "Shakaar")
In 2372, Jake Sisko suffered two nosebleeds while under the creative influence of Onaya. She offered him a handkerchief the second time. (DS9: "The Muse")
In 2373, while Keiko O'Brien was possessed by a Pah-Wraith, it made her convulse, which gave her a nosebleed. (DS9: "The Assignment")
Later that year, Elim Garak suffered a nosebleed when his mind was linked with Odo, reliving Odo's memories. In this link, Garak was punched in the face by a Cardassian soldier. (DS9: "Things Past")
In 2374, Jadzia Dax, in a hypothetical discussion with Benjamin Sisko in which she took up the role of Romulan Proconsul Neral, claimed that the Dominion crossing Romulan space to give the Federation a bloody nose didn’t make "her" feel bad. (DS9: "In the Pale Moonlight")
