An oath coin

An oath coin was a medallion given to Majalan Linnarean Guards when they swore to protect the life of the First Servant. It was their highest military honor and a sacred symbol of their oath, and to deface it was forbidden. The Guards wore the coin on a pendant around their necks.

In 2259, Minister Alora found a defaced oath coin in the wreckage of a crashed combat cruiser that had tried to abduct the First Servant. This alerted her to the possibility that members of the Linnarean Guard were involved in the attack, and led to the discovery of another dissident within the Guard, Kier, who had similarly defaced his coin.
