Olatunde Osunsanmi (born 23 October 1977; age 46) is a Nigerian-American director and producer who directed seven episodes of Star Trek: Discovery. He was also a co-executive producer of the series before his June 2018 promotion to executive producer, which included making him the show's Toronto set-based producer and director. He also directed the Star Trek: Short Treks episodes "Calypso" and "The Girl Who Made the Stars".
Osunsanmi, who has a Master of Fine Arts from Dodge College of Film and Media Arts, started his career by directing a short called Etat (2000). Early in his career he worked as a production assistant on 100 Deeds for Eddie McDowd and as a production staff member on The Tracy Morgan Show, as well as a script supervisor on the shorts Last Goodbye and Blue Light Café. In 2006, he was the assistant to Joe Carnahan, director and writer of Smokin Aces (featuring Joseph Ruskin).
After writing and directing the films Within (2005), The Fourth Kind (2009) and Evidence (2013) he moved into television in 2015. He has since directed episodes of Under the Dome, Extant, The Last Ship, Falling Skies (with Doug Jones in a recurring role), Minority Report, Sleepy Hollow (created by Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman), Legends of Tomorrow (starring Victor Garber), Blindspot, Gotham, Colony, Bates Motel, The Son, and Timeless (with Susanna Thompson). On the fifth season of Falling Skies he also worked as a co-executive producer.
He is currently writing and directing the upcoming film Dark Moon.
