Oliana Mirren was a young Human female in the 24th century. She didn't like losing competitions.

In 2364, she took the Starfleet Academy entrance exam on Relva VII alongside T'Shanik, Mordock and Wesley Crusher. Mirren considered Crusher lucky for having had his experience aboard the USS Enterprise-D. Upon hearing he would turn sixteen in a month, she wished him happy birthday.

Unlike Wesley, for whom she perceived academic excellence as coming easily, she mentioned that she had to work harder to get good grades. When he tried to correct her assumption by saying that he had to study all the time to get where he was, she told him, "It's a good thing you're cute, Wesley, or you could really be obnoxious," and left. Wesley was pleased by her compliment.

Mirren failed to make it into the Academy, losing out to Mordock. She warned Wesley to be ready for her at next year's exams, promising not to be easy to beat. (TNG: "Coming of Age")

Oliana Mirren was played by Estee Chandler.
The script specified her age as 18, making her birth year 2346. She was described in the script as "a red-head with sparkle and probably a temper."

Oliana reappeared in the Pocket Books trilogy Star Trek: Destiny, indicating that she had eventually succeeded in becoming a Starfleet officer, attaining the rank of lieutenant as of 2381 and the position of operations manager aboard the USS Aventine, under the command of Ezri Dax.
