Lieutenant Onara was an operations division officer in the Bajoran Militia who served on Deep Space 9 during the 2370s.
When his daughter turned fourteen in 2372, he asked Benjamin Sisko to give his blessing at her ih'tanu ceremony, to which Sisko agreed. (DS9: "Accession")
Onara was played by David Carpenter.
Onara's rank was taken from the script, which also stated that he was about forty years old. [1]
