A disabled Enterprise encounters an alien ship in one of the Orassin distortion fields
The Orassin Distortion Fields was an area of very dense spatial anomalies generated by the first sphere encountered by Enterprise NX-01 in the Delphic Expanse.
History[]
The area was predicted by Jannar as a place where the Enterprise crew would not survive. The Enterprise first started heading to this region after their discovery that the Xindi homeworld was destroyed. The Orassin fields were used as a hunting ground by Osaarian pirates, who would attack and raid any ship which was disabled by the anomalies. In 2153, they attacked Enterprise in this manner, stealing a number of resources and supplies from the United Earth Starfleet vessel. The next year, subsequent to the destruction of the entire sphere network, the area was returned to normal space, along with all of the spatial distortions in the Expanse.
