Oversleeping was the act of remaining asleep longer than one planned or ought to if one wished to be on time for an appointment or one's duty shift.

In 2369, William T. Riker overslept numerous times aboard the USS Enterprise-D, as a result of being abducted by solanogen-based lifeforms. (TNG: "Schisms")

In 2370, Data overslept soon after experiencing a series of nightmares. (TNG: "Phantasms")

Later that year, Dr. Julian Bashir asked a replicant of Miles O'Brien if he had been oversleeping. (DS9: "Whispers")

In 2373, B'Elanna Torres overslept as a result of intense dreams telepathically implanted by Korenna Mirell. (VOY: "Remember")

In early 2374, Torres again overslept, having forgotten to tell the computer to awaken her. (VOY: "Day of Honor")

In 2375, Worf overslept aboard the USS Enterprise-E; Jean-Luc Picard flippantly said he'd refrain from court martialing him. (Star Trek: Insurrection)

In 2376, The Doctor asked Kathryn Janeway if she had overslept when she turned up during the afternoon for her inoculation against neutron radiation. (VOY: "Fair Haven")
