Ensign Pablo Baytart was a Starfleet officer aboard the USS Voyager during its voyage through the Delta Quadrant in the 2370s. A skilled pilot, Baytart briefed Neelix on the basics of Starfleet shuttle operations, and was even considered as a replacement conn officer when it appeared as if Lieutenant Tom Paris had decided to disembark from Voyager. (VOY: "Parturition", "Investigations")
In 2372, when Captain Janeway assigned Lieutenant Paris and Neelix to a mission to collect food supplies from a planet, Paris, who was experiencing personal problems with Neelix at the time, suggested that Baytart would be a better choice to pilot the shuttle. Janeway insisted that Paris take the mission, however, due to electromagnetic anomalies in the planet's atmosphere. (VOY: "Parturition")
Baytart was also a skilled juggler, and was set to showcase his talents on Neelix's news show, A Briefing with Neelix. According to Neelix, Baytart would keep PADDs, hyposprays, even phasers, in the air "for minutes at a time." (VOY: "Investigations")
Baytart was assigned quarters next to Ensign Harry Kim, Voyager's operations officer. The noise produced by Kim's clarinet would often be conducted by the fluid conduits in the wall between their quarters, a fact which annoyed Baytart. In 2372, when Baytart banged on the wall in response to Kim's playing, Kim and Paris joked that they should have Baytart transferred to the night shift. (VOY: "The Thaw")
This character appeared as an off-screen voiceover.
He was heard off screen (voiced by an unknown actor) saying "All set, Neelix" in "Investigations".
