The Pallas 14 system was an inhabited planetary system in the Alpha or Beta Quadrant. It was located on the outer fringe of the Milky Way Galaxy.

The planet Mantilles

In 2269, Mantilles was the most remote inhabited planet of the Federation. Bob Wesley, a retired Starfleet commodore, was the planet's governor. Mantilles had a population of 82 million.

During that year, the system was invaded by a huge cosmic cloud creature, which began to consume the system. After consuming Alondra, the cloud creature threatened to engulf Mantilles. It was convinced by the crew of the USS Enterprise to leave the galaxy. (TAS: "One of Our Planets Is Missing")

In 2293, the location of Pallas 14 in the Milky Way Galaxy was labeled in the star chart The Explored Galaxy, which was seen in James T. Kirk's quarters aboard the USS Enterprise-A. (Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, okudagram)

StarTrek.com stated that the system was named after the German scientist Peter Simon Pallas (1741-1811). [1](X)
