Pants, also known as trousers or britches, were clothing made of fabric that covered a lifeform's lower torso (waist) and legs (to ankles). A suit included matching jacket and trousers. In some species, customs involved men wearing trousers while women would wear skirts and hosiery.

The Arctic Archaeology Team on Earth wore thick trousers, also known as overalls, during their research in the Arctic Circle. (ENT: "Regeneration")

In 2263 of the alternate reality, James T. Kirk noted that Kevin, who was attending the captain's birthday party, still wasn't wearing pants. (Star Trek Beyond)

In 2370, Miles O'Brien agreed with Jadzia Dax's guess that Garak's bitten hand was due to a disgruntled customer, saying the tailor always cut pants too long. Later, Garak commented on the fact that pants often needed to be let out.(DS9: "Cardassians")

In 2372, Garak added extra padding to the seat of Morn's new trousers, saying it would make swiveling on a barstool more comfortable. (DS9: "Body Parts")

While Tom Paris played the role of Bobby Davis in the Sainte Claire holoprogram he used mid-20th century American slang when he shouted to the soldiers, "Keep it moving! Keep it moving! Get the lead out of your pants!", as Seven of Nine noted. (VOY: "The Killing Game, Part II")
