Parachutes, time stream

Numerous parachutes deployed in a World War II battle

A parachute was a device that slowed one's descent, allowing one to survive a drop from great heights, such as from an airplane or orbit.

Orbital skydivers carried compressed parachutes in their suits to help them land safely. (VOY: "Extreme Risk"; Star Trek Generations deleted scene)

After Jonathan Archer restored a damaged timeline, parachutes used by soldiers during World War II could be seen in the time stream as the timeline realigned itself. (ENT: "Storm Front, Part II")

In the alternate reality, James T. Kirk, Hikaru Sulu, and Chief Engineer Olson used parachutes with a repacking mechanism in their orbital skydive to the Narada's drill platform. The parachute could not support the weight of more than one person. (Star Trek)

Within the Dixon Hill holoprogram, an issue of Esquire magazine was on display which showed magazine mascot Esky, and another person, parachuting. (TNG: "The Big Goodbye")

In the holosuite program Julian Bashir, Secret Agent, Julian Bashir's character had fallen from a dirigible, but he fortunately happened to have a parachute with him, and he found a submarine waiting for him when he landed. (DS9: "Our Man Bashir")

In 2380, Starfleet officers Sam Rutherford, Shaxs, and Andy Billups wore parachutes when they jumped from a long range shuttle in mid-flight to a museum on Vulcan. (LD: "Veritas")
