Paramount Parks was the theme park operation that ran Star Trek: The Experience, among other Star Trek-themed attractions, and which used to resort under CBS Consumer Products.
The operation was originally owned by the former Viacom. After the CBS/Viacom split in 2005, the rights for Paramount Parks remained with Viacom, now known as CBS Corporation. In January 2006, however, CBS announced their plans to sell Paramount Parks, as it no longer fitted the company's "core content-oriented strategy", as a CBS spokesman had put it at the time.
