For real world parodies of Star Trek, please see Star Trek parodies and pop culture references.

A parody was a work of literature which made fun of the serious work or genre it was based on.

In 2372, Kasidy Yates was trying to get out of bed to check on something but was being hampered by in her efforts by amorous advances from Benjamin Sisko. She rebuffed his assertion that he was a paragon of virtue, saying he was instead a parody of virtue. (DS9: "For the Cause")

In 2373, Tuvok disagreed with the unexpected plot twists Tom Paris wished to include in the holonovel Insurrection Alpha (such as having Janeway execute the conspirators), saying he would not allow Paris to turn the program into a parody. (VOY: "Worst Case Scenario")
