Patrick H. Kehoe was a First Assistant Director (1st AD) on Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home, along with Douglas E. Wise.
Kehoe began as a Second Assistant Director (2nd AD) in 1974 with The Strongest Man in the World (featuring James Gregory and William Schallert). This film was directed by Star Trek: The Original Series alum Vincent McEveety, whom Kehoe worked with again on Gus (1976). He was also 2nd AD on two Paramount Pictures' Posse (1975, featuring Kate Woodville) and King Kong (1976, starring René Auberjonois).
By 1979, Kehoe had become a 1st AD, an occupation he held on over twenty films. Among these movies were The Final Countdown (1985, with Douglas E. Wise serving as 2nd AD), Poltergeist (1982, with cinematography by Matthew F. Leonetti and music by Jerry Goldsmith), and The Color Purple (1985, starring Whoopi Goldberg and featuring Leon Rippy, with set decoration by Linda DeScenna). For his work on the latter film, Kehoe shared an award from the Directors Guild of America (DGA) in the Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Motion Pictures category.
In addition, Kehoe worked on four movies directed by Joe Dante and featuring Star Trek: Voyager actor Robert Picardo. He was the 1st AD on Dante's Explorers (1985) and Innerspace (1987) and later served as Associate Producer and Unit Production Manager on The 'Burbs (1989). Most recently, Kehoe was Co-Producer and Unit Production Manager on Matinee (1993).
Kehoe was also Co-Producer and Unit Production Manager on What's Love Got to Do With It (1993, starring Angela Bassett and Laurence Fishburne, with Jenifer Lewis and Penny Johnson) and The Peacemaker. His other credits as a 1st AD include Southern Comfort (1981, starring Keith Carradine, with cinematography by Andrew Laszlo and production design by John Vallone), Bad Boys (1983, associate produced by Marty Hornstein, featuring Clancy Brown and Alan Ruck), Crimes of Passion (1984, starring Bruce Davison), Always (1989, starring Holly Hunter, with Audrey Hepburn), and Final Analysis (1992, featuring George Murdock). He was also 1st AD on the second unit of Paramount's Wayne's World (1992).
