Paulina "Miel" Chmielecka (born 6 October 1977; age 46) is a Polish-Canadian actress and model who played a Shenzhou crew member in the Star Trek: Discovery first season episodes "The Vulcan Hello" and "Battle at the Binary Stars" and a Discovery engineering technician in the episode "Magic to Make the Sanest Man Go Mad". [1] [2] As a background performer, she received no credit for her roles.

She was born in Łódź, Poland, but when she was 9 years old, her family relocated to Toronto, Canada, where she quickly learned English. [3] Miel started her model career at the age of 20, while working on her Business Degree at York University. She was soon discovered and signed with Ford Models. She worked with clients such as Hugo Boss, Samsung, La Senza, La Vie En Rose, Harry Rosen, Levi's and many more.

As an actress, Miel appeared, among others, in the TV movies Dear Santa (2011) and Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B (2014, with Anthony Grant and Izaak Smith), and had a recurring supporting role in two episodes of Workin' Moms (with Dennis Andres, Katherine Barrell, Nelu Handa, Robert Verlaque, and Stephanie Belding).

She also worked as a stand-in in the 2019 action film Polar (with Anthony Grant, Jamillah Ross, Kirpa Budwal, Bobby Brown, Nick Alachiotis, Geoff Meech, Cam Fergus, Daryl Patchett, Stéphane Julien, Josh Madryga, Mike Joseph, Shara Kim, Andrei Kovski, Alain Moussi, Moses Nyarko, Daniel Lavigne, and Dan Skene).
