Penelope Mitchell (born 24 July 1991; age 33) is an actress who played Renée Picard in the second season of Star Trek: Picard. She also played Tallinn (impersonating Renée) in the episode "Farewell".
Born and raised in Australia to a French artist mother and an Australian businessman father, Mitchell studied ballet from age four to sixteen. She studied to become a lawyer at Melbourne University, while continuing to perform and act.
She appeared in the Australian kids' show Toon Time and guested in the police drama series Rush and Offspring before moving to the United States to pursue an acting career in Hollywood.
She is best known for her recurring role as Liv Parker in the sixth season of The Vampire Diaries (2014-15), starring Paul Wesley, and her co-starring role as Letha Godfrey in the first season of Hemlock Grove (2013), which starred Famke Janssen.
In film, she appeared in Hellboy (2019, with Joel Harlow, Douglas Tait and Daniel Dae Kim), Becoming (2020), The Hyperions (2022), made by and released on the conservative news site The Daily Wire, R.I.P.D. 2: Rise of the Damned (2022), the thriller What You Wish For (2023), Muzzle (2023, with Grainger Hines), Sting (2024), and Oh, Canada (2024).
