The personal log of Saul Ramon contained log entries kept while he served in Starfleet.
Following his death, Starfleet decrypted his personal logs, which were reviewed by Lieutenant James T. Kirk and Ensign Nyota Uhura to gain insight into the auditory and visual hallucinations he had experienced, which were of an identical nature to those Uhura was experiencing. After listening to his final log, Uhura noted the date of the logs, and figured that she might have a day and a half left before she completely succumbed to the same effects Ramon suffered.
