Phil Crain is a comic book editor and occasional writer. While working at Malibu Comics, he took over as the primary editor on the Deep Space Nine line when Mark Paniccia moved into the role of overseeing the company's licenses. Crain also wrote the story "Collision Course" in the "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Special".

After Malibu was purchased by Marvel Comics, Crain continued with the company, working on occasional Star Trek titles, including John Vornholt's comic adaptation of Star Trek: First Contact.
