Phil Nee Nee is an assistant director who worked alongside Ashley Bell and Rhonda Taylor as Second Assistant Director on Star Trek Beyond, directed by Justin Lin with First Assistant Director Nick Satriano. [1]

Nee Nee worked as location production assistant on the horror film Dreamcatcher (2003), as second unit key production assistant on the horror sequel Freddy vs. Jason (2003), and as production assistant for the assistant directors on the science fiction remake I, Robot (2004, with James Cromwell and Bruce Greenwood and screenplay by Akiva Goldsman).

As trainee assistant director, he worked on the comic adaptations X2 (2003, directed, written, and produced by Bryan Singer, starring Patrick Stewart, Famke Janssen, and Bruce Davison, produced by Stan Lee and Ralph Winter, and with fellow trainee AD Ashley Bell) and Catwoman (2004), the comedy White Chicks (2004), the drama Man About Town (2006), and the romance In the Land of Women (2007).

Nee Nee was third assistant director on the comedy The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants (2005, with Mike Vogel), the drama Things We Lost in the Fire (2007, with fellow third AD Rhonda Taylor), and the comedy Chaos Theory (2008, with casting by Chadwick Struck), and was the first assistant director on the Watchmen short project Under the Hood (2009, with Matt Frewer, Rob LaBelle, Stephen McHattie, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan, casting by Andrea Brown, and special thanks to Rhonda Taylor and Eva Morgan).

After he worked as second unit second assistant director on the comedy sequel Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian (2009) and as second second assistant director on the fantasy films Sucker Punch (2011) and Red Riding Hood (2011), Nee Nee was the second assistant director on the fantasy prequel Underworld Awakening (2012, characters co-created by Kevin Grevioux), the horror thriller The Possession (2012, with Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Rob LaBelle), the thriller The Company You Keep (2012, with Stephen Root and Matthew Kimbrough), the sequel G.I. Joe: Retaliation (2013, starring Dwayne Johnson), the music film Metallica Through the Never (2013), the comedy Hector and the Search for Happiness (2014, starring Simon Pegg and Christopher Plummer), and the fantasy adventure Seventh Son (2014).

More recently, he worked as assistant director and producer on the short crime drama The Trap (2015) and as key second assistant director on the science fiction film Tomorrowland (2015, co-written by Damon Lindelof).
