Pidgin was a street-level language spoken in the 32nd century.

It was typically used by smugglers and criminals. For example, Zareh spoke Pidgin to his lieutenants. When Zareh met Saru and Sylvia Tilly, he correctly deduced that they were time travelers, as any contemporary Starfleet officer would have at least a rudimentary grasp of Pidgin, which neither Saru nor Tilly spoke.

An example of Pidgin was the English phrase "there are greater spoils to be had" rendered into Pidgin as "izee bigger freeup to getting." (DIS: "Far From Home")

"V'draysh" was a Pidgin slang term, apparently a nickname for the United Federation of Planets. (ST: "Calypso"; DIS: "Far From Home")

A pidgin is a grammatically simplified language that develops when two or more groups without a common language come into contact.
Pidgin was constructed by Alan Anderson (citation needededit), who served as translator and dialect coach for DIS: "Far From Home".
